Safety Tips
AnybodyOutThere will get you talking to many other great users so you'll have fun while getting your burning issues off your chest. Unfortunately though, there is a slight chance that you might run into some not-so-great people. Listed below are a few guidelines that we have prepared for you to easily follow on your online talks at AnybodyOutThere:
- Discontinue chats that make you feel uncomfortable due to their contents or to other users' behaviors
- If you get a message that is degrading, insulting, obnoxious, cruel or otherwise rude, refrain from answering and discontinue the conversation to avoid further abuse.
- Ignore any unwanted messages that you might receive through your AnybodyOutThere account. Do not reply to them but add the sender to your ignore list to disable their ability to email you.
- Avoid sharing your full name, address, contact numbers, workplace and any other personal information that will make it possible for others to find you.
- People may assume any identity and not really be who they claim they are. Be careful when making new friends online.
- If you decide for whatever reason to personally meet with other user that you have met online on AnybodyOutThere, make sure to do it at a reasonable time of day in a public place while bringing one of your friends with you.
- If you ever feel physically threatened, contact the police.
- If you choose to post a picture on your profile, we ask that you keep it clean and decent and avoid offensive or adult-only content.
- Do not lie about your age and please respect the age limits if they are set or requested by other users.
- If you are younger than 13 years of age, you may only use AnybodyOutThere under adult supervision.
- If you are younger than 18 years of age and feel that another user solicits sex, threatens you, or does anything else that worries you, tell your parents immediately. If you have the text of that chat session available, please send it to Support@AnybodyOutThere.com.
- Last but not least- Do not believe everything you read online. Keep an open mind and a healthy dose of skepticism.
